Daily Poem – Stretching line

Stretching Line

Beak broadly touching winter calm, worm ragged and hiding,

Sleeping in brick and mortar, clambering in same size prism

Colours deep denied by gravity; forgone and monochrome

A sleep in clever disguise; not seen by lank drifter

A sword drawn to sharpen

Stone driven hard into soft receiver, a deliberate purse closed conceiver

Dripped in ink black window never lightened

White empty and thoughtless as ever only looking at the headlines

At the headlights and driven in radiator cracks

Splattered into return to the beginning

Stretched sublime

Left at the side of the walk
